Lorain County Community College offers a unique opportunity for you to get a head start on your college and career goals while still a high school student. We offer several dual enrollment opportunities for high school students to earn college credit. These include:

College Credit Plus

If you are in grades seven through 12 at any public or private school, you can participate in College Credit Plus (CCP). You will earn high school graduation credit and college credit at the same time by taking college classes. If you select this option your tuition, books, materials and fees associated with such courses are paid for. CCP is available in fall, spring and summer semesters and is available for any LCCC classes taken on the Elyria campus, through distance learning, any of the LCCC learning centers, or at many local high schools through each school’s MyUniversity program.

For more information on CCP opportunities, visit www.lorainccc.edu/ccp.

Early College High School

Lorain County Early College High School (ECHS) is an exciting opportunity as you begin ninth grade to participate in a combined high school and college experience with the goal of earning a high school diploma and college associate degree at the same time.

All courses are taught on the LCCC campus tuition free. Bus transportation is included. Curriculum is challenging, support services are plentiful and family involvement is encouraged as a necessity. By taking advantage of all that the college environment offers for ECHS, you will be more engaged in the learning process.

Who is eligible for ECHS?
  • Students must be first-generation college-going students (Parents do not have a college degree)
  • Students must be entering the ninth grade
  • Students must be proficient on the seventh grade reading and math Ohio Achievement Test (OAT).
  • Students transitioning from eighth grade to high school.

College Tech Prep

Intrigued by technology?  Motivated by hands-on learning?  If you’re a high school sophomore, the College Tech Prep (CTP) program may be for you.

You can choose the CTP program as an alternative to your traditional junior and senior years. By doing so, you’ll be able to complete both high-level academic courses (preparing you for college entrance) as well as technical courses in the field of your choice (preparing you for career entrance).
